I have a BS in Business Management and spent 8 years in the world of Wall Street before deciding I needed a different path. I enrolled at the Massage Institute of New England (MINE) in Cambridge and completed the 650 hour course in 10 months, graduating in February 1994. I started my private practice in Andover, moving to North Reading in 1995. I have been in my current building since 2001.
I trained in the basics of Swedish massage, Triggerpoint Therapy and Deep Tissue massage, then continued my education with advanced training in Structural Integration with Tom Myers, CORE Myofascial Therapy with George Kousaleos, OrthoBionomy with Cynthia Wood; later adding Lymphatic Drainage as well as Pregnancy and Infant massage classes. All of these varied approaches have given me the tools to find a way to help you manage your pain, decrease your stress, increase or maintain your range of motion, support your exercise program; basically achieve your personal physical goals. I don't practice one specific type of massage but combine all I've learned and experienced over the past 27 years into a distinct experience for YOU.
A good Massage Therapist is more than just the techniques they have studied though. I listen to my clients and hear what they say as well as see what their body is telling me through their posture and movements. Each person is a unique puzzle to solve, a relationship that must be treated with respect and care. It's a responsibility but one that I embrace.
